The Trondheim region has a lot to offer. There is not a great divide between urban and rural. Within the radius of a 30-90-minute drive or sail, there are farm products, coastal products and mountain products on offer.

Trondheim is a great starting point for day trips into the region. Or how about staying one night downtown and one night in a lovely coastal gem on Fosen? Trøndelag and Trondheim has established itself as a good place to experience local foods, and different areas of the region have different specialities. How about lamb from Røros, cheese from Inderøya, salmon from Frøya or venison from Hitra? The vegetables from Frosta are famous. We also recommend a visit to one of the farms in Stjørdal, sampling the local beer. Welcome to Trondheim and the Trøndelag region!
