Norway's national shrine is built on the grave of St. Olav and dates back to 1070. It is open every day. The atmosphere of the world's most northerly cathedral is worth feeling and a visit will reveal countless works of art. These include a Russian icon, the beautiful stained glass windows and the numerous stone carvings and reliefs. The Visitors’ Centre close by has a gift shop and some unique products from Nidaros Cathedral. This is also a place to enjoy a cup of coffee and study the impressive West Front.
